Before buying this watch I visited several Tissot dealers and I can say that this is one of the best Tissot's I have seen. Considering the price listed here on Amazon its unbeatable. I own an Omega Seamaster Pro Chronograph and needed a watch for every day use, and this watch is perfect. I've seen this watch in the dealer with a retail of $350.00 and only one of 5 authorized dealers had one available since they claim that it is not for the US market. watch is heavy and very well made. also shipping was fast (2 days).

Tissot, V-8 lives up to its nameOct 03, 2005

This is a beautiful watch. I can say that with authority, because I checked out Breitlings, Omegas, Tag Heuers and others. I own a Tag Heuer and an vintage Hamilton. The Tissot is not available from U.S. retailers, only from Europe, so I was very pleased when Amazon could get it for me. It is similar in some ways to the Omega Speedmaster, with it engraved tachometer on the bezel. The dial color is ivory with black enamaled hour markers. Second hand and subdial markers are blue, a nice combo.The watch arrived promptly with a nice wooden box, warranty and instruction manual. It's a steal at the price, the Omega costs $1400. discounted, although it is a automatic, versus the Tissot's quartz movement. This is a big watch, I measured it at 43mm, and it may not suit everyone. This watch has the look, the heft and the styling of a very expensive watch and to my eye. it's better looking that many Breitlings, Omegas, Fortis and others. The price can't be beat in today's market. Highly recommended.

Very nice watch, although a bit thick and heavy. Very handsome. However, maker sure your wrist is as thin as a fashion model's or the watchband will be at its last hole.

Very durable, aesthetic. Watch has taken plenty of hard hits but has not shown a dent or scratch yet (have had it over a year). In addition, the movement is excellent. Have had it over a year and has not even lost a minute. Lastly, the watchband is also aesthetic and well made. Has barely shown any wear in over a year of use (despite not being made of metal). Expect it to last many years. In addition, the watch and band have withstood plenty of use in water. The only drawback is that the watch is quite large and is very heavy due to this and the fact it is make of of steel. I do not recomment wearing this watch if you have to sit and use a computer all day.
Update:
After having this thing a while I have realized that the battery life is quite low. You are lucky to get 2 years of battery power. Then it needs to be replaced. Considering the fact that the back cover is almost impossible to remove, even for a professional jeweler, nevermind a mere lay watchowner, it needs to be sent to Tissot for battery replacement. The fee is about $50!!! Hence if you are considering purchasing this watch be prepared to spend quite a bit, over the watch's lifetime on maintenance. If I knew this originally I would have never purchased this.
Hence a revised rating, taking this into consideration, would be only in the 2 to 3 star range.
