Very nice watch, great features. Once upon a time all watches were self winding, but battery operated watches took over.
They're cheaper to build, not so to buy.
However, the constant opening and closing of the watch to replace the battery causes failure of the back seal so it's no longer water resistant, and will fail due to contamination.
With a self winding watch you just use it till it wears out.No need to open the back.
That why we bought this one.

This watch is really elegant, however it was way too big for my wrist. I had to return it.
